Safaricom in Ethiopia is looking for interested ,experienced and strategic Data Privacy Lead to oversee and strengthen the organization’s data protection and privacy framework. The role is critical in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations while safeguarding customer and business data
♦ Key Responsibilities
★Lead the development and implementation of data privacy policies and frameworks
★Ensure compliance with local and international data protection regulations
★Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk analysis
★Work closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams
★Monitor data processing activities and ensure proper governance
★Deliver training and awareness programs on data privacy
★Act as the main point of contact for data protection matters
♦ Qualifications & Requirements
✍Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
✍Minimum 2+ years of experience in data protection, compliance, or information security
✍Strong knowledge of global data privacy laws and standards
✍Professional certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are an advantage
✍Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
